Participants of this workshop will receive a comprehensive overview of women’s history along with women who have made significant advancements to societal norms. Members will then work on a small project applying this knowledge to a presentation for real-world application. Arnav Patel will then send these presentations to women in Zulu, South Africa to give them insight into the world of business, have them gain confidence in their abilities and see the possibilities for achieving their goals.

This workshop includes seven sessions and will be offered twice a year:

Class 1: Brief introduction, ice breakers, the outline of how the class will go and what our final goal is.

Class 2: Informational session on women’s history, women who have made a significant change in today’s modern society. Susan B. Anthony, Harriet Tubman, Eleanor Roosevelt, Rosa Parks, Michelle Obama, Malala Yousafzai.

Class 3: Take part in a small project where each member will select important figures in women’s rights history, create a small two-to-five-minute presentation on them and how they can relate to their movements and achievements.

Class 4: Finalize the presentations and reflect.

Class 5: Gain understanding of how the women in KwaZulu-Natal South Africa run their businesses and how we can support them.

Class 6: Open forum discussion of current event topics and relevant suffrage issues.

Class 7: Create a presentation that Arnav, the workshop founder, will send to Zulu women in South Africa. There may be an opportunity for direct communication with the women.
